About this type

The last DC-9 descendant, born as the MD-95 and renamed when Boeing absorbed McDonnell Douglas. A small, tough twin that Delta and Hawaiian kept flying long after everyone expected.

T-tail, rear engines, and a stubby body: it looks like nothing else Boeing ever sold under its own name.

First flight: September 2, 1998.

The only Boeing jetliner never designed by Boeing.

Rolls-Royce BR715s made it remarkably quiet for its lineage.
