About this type

The trijet that built the US domestic network: three engines on the tail, a T-tail, and built-in airstairs for airports with nothing. A few dozen freighters and special ships still earn their keep.

The center S-duct intake above the fuselage is the classic silhouette of 1970s aviation.

First flight: July 27, 1967 (-200).

Over 1,800 727s were built in total.

Its rear airstairs became famous in the D.B. Cooper case.
