About this type

The original stretched 777 was built to replace early 747s on dense Asian trunk routes. Its distinct B773 designator keeps it a separate catch from the far more common ER.

No raked wingtips, older engines, and mostly Asian operators: a non-ER 777-300 is a regional specialty.

First flight: October 16, 1997.

At launch it was the longest airliner in the world.

Only around 60 were built before the ER took over.
