About this type

The final evolution of the A300, the aircraft that started Airbus itself. The A300 was the world's first twin-engine widebody, and the -600 refined it with a two-crew cockpit and more range.

Passenger examples are nearly extinct; the surviving type identity mostly echoes through the freighter world it spawned.

First flight: July 8, 1983 (A300-600).

Descendant of the very first Airbus, the 1972 A300.

Its fuselage cross-section lives on in the A330 and A340.
