About this type
A shortened, longer-ranged A300 with a new wing, the A310 pioneered technology later taken for granted: it helped introduce the two-crew glass cockpit to widebodies. Survivors fly mostly as tankers and government transports.
The -300's giveaway is the small wingtip fences, an Airbus first that predates today's sharklets by decades.
First flight: July 8, 1985 (A310-300).
The basis of Germany's and Canada's military transport and MRTT tankers.
First Airbus with wingtip fences.
