About this type
The original small ATR from 1984 launched the Franco-Italian partnership that came to own turboprop aviation. Passenger examples are gone from most markets; cargo survivors carry on.
Four-blade props mark the classic generation, an instant visual difference from every modern ATR.
First flight: August 16, 1984.
The very first ATR product.
Its name comes from Avions de Transport Régional.
