About this type
The Citation X was built to answer one question: how fast can a business jet go? At Mach 0.935 it was the fastest civil aircraft in service after Concorde retired, wearing a swept wing and area-ruled fuselage to prove it.
Golf legend Arnold Palmer took delivery of the first one in 1996 and flew it himself. The X+ pushed cruise slightly higher before production ended in 2018.
First flight: December 21, 1993.
Cruises at Mach 0.935, about 990 km/h.
Arnold Palmer was the launch customer and pilot.
