About this type
The Dornier 328 is a hot rod among turboprops: a fast, high-flying 30-seater with a supercritical wing, built in Bavaria in the 1990s. Regional pilots loved the speed; accountants preferred bigger types, so production stayed small.
The design refuses to die. US operators kept fleets flying for decades, and the D328eco program aims to restart production in Germany with modern systems.
First flight: December 6, 1991.
One of the fastest turboprops of its size, ~620 km/h cruise.
Just over 100 turboprop 328s were built.
