About this type
One of the fastest turboprops ever built: the stretched Saab cruises near 680 km/h, embarrassing jets on short sectors. The market chose regional jets anyway, and only 63 were made.
Its speed, rarity and Swedish engineering make the 2000 a cult favorite; surviving operators are few and devoted.
First flight: March 26, 1992.
Only 63 were built.
Among the fastest turboprop airliners in history.
